Women on a Mission ....
2010-2011 Floods hit out little community with a mighty "THUDD" last year. We were affected in more ways the you all realise. Most impacts have a domino effect, as this one did too. Effecting our "Sister" Communities around us as well, I decided to create a program and host in Rhubarb as a time to reflect and help us realise how precious life is. We often watch life blow by without taking time to stop and realise its the small things that really matter.
Women on a Mission kicked off in April and was held over 3 Nights. (The last saturday of April , May + June). Once the Ladies were registered to participate a customised Invitation was sent off to them and they had a Women on a Mission pack waiting for them on arrival. The pack consisted of the following:
We were set! We had all we needed to complete our Missions!
We had 3 "Missions" to complete and they were the following.
Mission 1. ~ Dream to be Inspired ~
This night was all about reflecting back on our inspiration to life and the things that really get our soul kicking. We done a journal activity and we answered a number of personal questions. (The theory behind this activity was "out of mind out of sight") The more we wrote down the better it felt to get it out- the best part was NO ONE was going to read it and we wouldnt be judged on our thoughts and feelings for once!- We played some games to keep things up beat and everyone interacted with each other and had a really great time!
Mission 2. ~ Dress to Impress ~
This night was devoted to showing ladies How to dress to impress! All about making your self look and feel like a Million Bucks! Rhubarb had a special guest appearance from our Mela Purdie Expert -Anne Breakwell- from Anne Breakwell Agencies. We had loads of fun listening to Anne talk and explain how Mela Purdie best works for you. We kicked the night off with a Fashion Parade and then we had some 1 on 1 time with Anne discussing your concerns and questions about the label. It was a fantastic night and a very special thanks to Anne for travelling and helping Rhubarb out! We finished the night with a great Mela Purdie Scarf giveaway- it never comes easy-.
Mission 3. ~Live to Laugh ~
3rd and final night! We launched this night with Bella Donna Silver and was spoilt to have an exclusive collection for that night only showing a taste of what they have to offer. Jason and Donna from Bella Donna travelled up from the Sunshine coast for Rhubarb to share their range of Products and touching story. Jason and Donna donate a percentage of profit each year to an orphanage in a 3rd world country. Over the years they have been doing this they have touched and changed the hearts of so many people that are less fortunate. Their collection was a hit- it was beautiful to see the sparkle of the silver and to see the quality and care that Jason and Donna have for their products. The night was then handed over to Andrea from Andrea's Country Beauty in Theodore here. Andrea brought her make up range along and explained the in's and out of applying make up. Lets face it, we all advice as we tend to do things we shouldnt when it comes to applying or removing our make up. Andrea explained the transition we should take when our ages become a factor in our life.
Rhubarb had roughly 30 Ladies participate in Women on a Mission and it was great to see Ladies come from Moura and Biloela for it. We indulged in yummy food, that i do have to thank my mother for! She done a great job!! Lets not forget the drop or 2 of wine we enjoyed. It was a great time to reflect and take time out for us, especially after the few months we all just experienced! Thank you to the Theodore Recovery Appeal who contributed $50 vouchers to go towards the program, these vouchers we spent in the town of Theodore.
